Job Description:
Position Overview:
Job Summary:
Under general professional and administrative guidance, with wide
latitude for initiative and independent, professional judgment,
serves as a therapist specializing in family counseling associated
with treatment for alcohol/drug dependency. Plans, coordinates, and
provides family counseling services for designated patients under
the direction of the clinical director and participates in related
therapeutic and educational activities.
Qualifications:
Education, Licensures, and Certifications:
Master's Degree in counseling, social work, or behavioral sciences
- Required
Experience:
Two years experience in coordinating and providing individual and
group counseling to family members/significant others of addicted
patients in an alcohol/drug dependency treatment setting,
preferably through a continuum of care- Required
Prefer experience which includes family and/or patient education in
the disease process and community education work - Preferred
Skills and Knowledge:
Knowledge of Microsoft Word and/or familiarity with word processing
required.
Prefer specific training in alcohol/drug addiction and related
topics, including specific training in counseling family
members/significant others of addicted patients.
