Role Description Part-time, on-site role for a therapist
specializing in neurodivergent children, adolescents, and families.
Work from our East Sacramento office with a dedicated play therapy
room—complete with therapeutic toys, art supplies, sandtray
materials, and sensory-friendly resources. Your work: Provide
non-directive play therapy to neurodivergent children (ages 3-17)
with ADHD, OCD, anxiety, and ASD Conduct family-based therapy
addressing systemic dynamics and parenting challenges Offer parent
consultation and psychoeducation on neurodiversity-affirming
approaches Conduct assessments and create individualized treatment
plans Deliver evidence-based interventions adapted for
neurodivergent minds Collaborate with families, schools,
pediatricians, OTs, and other professionals Maintain clinical
documentation in compliance with state regulations Participate in
weekly staff meetings, individual supervision, and group
consultation Contribute to community outreach and parent workshops
You'll receive mentorship from Lauren Dibble, LMFT, access to 30
hours of ADHD-specific continuing education, plus ongoing
supervision focused on deepening your clinical skills.
Qualifications Required: Education & Licensure: Master's in MFT,
Clinical Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field
Current California registration or licensure (AMFT, APCC, ACSW,
LMFT, LPCC, LCSW) Pre-licensed candidates welcome—supervision
provided Clinical Skills: Strong skills in assessment, diagnosis,
and therapy for ADHD and neurodiversity Experience with CBT, DBT,
ACT, or other evidence-based methodologies Excellent communication
and interpersonal skills Ability to connect with children and
create safe, affirming therapeutic spaces Understanding of typical
child development and neurodevelopmental differences Knowledge of
ethical guidelines, confidentiality laws, and HIPAA compliance
Professional Competencies: Organizational skills for managing
caseloads and documentation Ability to work independently and
collaboratively Cultural competence and sensitivity to diverse
families Deep commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion with
understanding of how systemic oppression impacts neurodivergent
individuals Dedication to neurodiversity-affirming practice
Commitment to ongoing professional development Preferred: Passion
for working with neurodivergent children and families Experience
with non-directive/child-centered play therapy Background or
interest in CPRT, SPACE, PCIT, PMT for ADHD, or family-based
treatment Experience facilitating parent groups or workshops
Enthusiasm for ADHD and neurodiversity continuing education
