Job Summary Job Summary This position is located at Westmoor High School 131 Westmoor Ave. Daly City, CA 94015. Job Description / Essential Elements: Print JEFFERSON UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT Administrative Offices Parent Liaison Coordinator Position - JHS Overall Duties: The following is a list of specific duties which are considered to be essential functions of the position. The list is not exhaustive, nor will all the duties specified be required at all times. This position requires that the individual be flexible and responsive to the needs of the students served by the school. Under the direction of the site principal, perform liaison duties between the school and parents/guardians to improve communication and interaction between parents/guardians and schools; assist in the coordination and scheduling of parents/guardians in various school activities and projects. Representative duties: * Perform liaison duties between school and parents/guardians to improve the communication and interaction between parents and schools * Works with parents/guardians/teachers/site administration/students (setting up conferences, translation services, completing applications, providing workshops-Synergy, Naviance) for the purpose of coordinating administrative activities with parents/guardians * Assist site administration with programs (JHS-SSC, Leadership Council, WASC, parent/ teacher conferences, ELAC and DELAC meetings) for the purpose of increasing parental involvement in school related activities. * Maintain communication logs with parents/guardians by telephone * Provide information to SST (Student Study Teams) and other educational agencies when requested by site administration * Mail information to parents/guardians regarding services, opportunities, activities, projects and programs * Create parent involvement plans to increase parent/guardian involvement at school * Maintain a variety of files (paper and/or electronic) records related to assigned activities * Translate from English to Spanish as necessary, translate written material * Prepare and assist written narratives to be included in JHS newsletters * Operate a computer to type various materials and other standard office equipment as assigned * Assist with answering phones and greeting visitors in the office as needed * Performed related duties as assigned * Advises site administration of parents/guardians needs * Attends in-service and training programs , when requested * Ability to collect and disaggregate data Desirable Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: * Demonstrate leadership ability * Skill in oral and written communications * Skill in organization * Ability to and willingness to learn * Ability to problem solve and develop collaborative relationships with students, parents, guardians and staff Experience: Job related experience is desired-Ability to speak Spanish a must Education: High School diploma or equivalent Required testing: Spanish Test Continuing education: none specified Clearances: Fingerprint and background clearance Hours: 7.5 hours per day Duration: 11 months Monthly wage: Step 33 of BISS contract ($2,506 - $3,076 Per Month) Requirements / Qualifications Requirements / Qualifications * Letter of Introduction (Addressed to Principal Brockton Ahrens) ---Resum-- ---Three [3] Current Letters of Reference, two [2] years and at least one [1] from a recent supervisor Candidates who meet the minimum screening requirements will be required to take and pass a performance assessment prior to interviewing.
