Vice President of Communications

As part of our growth and expansion, the MINA Group Marketing team seeks a talented, hands-on Vice President, Communications, to build the profile of MINA Group, Michael Mina and the portfolio of restaurant brands through strategic media placements and communication with various internal and external stakeholders.

You should be an intellectually curious, polished, strategic, and tactical communications professional, with a background in public relations and completely plugged into the restaurant, food and chef ecosystem. You will serve as a representative of the MINA Group in the world for all external communications. You will also take an active role in learning about business areas that could be powerful stories that we want to share with the world. You will bring our product, culture, and team s accomplishments to life. This role will report directly to the Chief Marketing Officer.

You thrive on accessing your network of food influencers, writers, restaurant movers and shakers to create meaningful and relevant coverage for our brands. You must be willing to do the work, possess exceptional relationship-building skills and multi-task with the ability to prioritize and focus. You have an appreciation for the industry, a curiosity to try new restaurants and dishes, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. You love a good challenge and aren t afraid to take creative risks to achieve your goals.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Drive a comprehensive PR program, including research, planning, development, and measurement.
  • Develop impactful consumer media strategies with a focus on food, design, our team, promotions, and corporate profile stories.
  • Develop and lead a long-term internal communications strategy that proactively supports MINA Group s vision, culture, brand, and is fully aligned to our internal People Strategy.
  • Lead the development of messaging and collateral (press releases, pitches, briefings, etc.).
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies, to organize amplification of key messages across channels.
  • Develop and pursue opportunities to position MINA Group and its team members as thought leaders in key areas, including media profiles, high-impact speaking engagements, and op-eds.
  • Manage RFP processes where applicable as well as agencies on boarded to assist with PR efforts
  • Remain engaged and attuned to the consumer media landscape, actively seeking new contacts, and making connections with new media outlets/platforms
    • Create a cadence of regular internal communications across various channels so that MINA Group team members are informed and engaged and have the information needed to work at their best.
      Knowledge and Abilities Required:
      • 6-10+ years experience in hospitality and lifestyle PR at an agency or substantial in-house brand
      • Proven ability to develop and deliver strategic communications plans and demonstrate successful outcomes.
      • Strong media relations skills, a deep network of media contacts, and impeccable copywriting and editing skills.
      • Superior presentation and advisory skills, with clear, concise thinking and confidence in delivering feedback to senior leaders on communications strategy in a timely fashion.
      • Strong project management skills and an ability to operate and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
      • Self-motivated and proactive approach to work
      • Ability to manage multiple projects/brands
      • Proven efficiency and success in both managing agencies as well as securing media placement directly with press

        TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: May require travel to local sites to effectively complete essential functions of this role. Overnight travel may be required on an as needed basis, e.g., new restaurant opening, training, which will be determined at the discretion of the company.
