County badgeBasic Functions: Responsible for transporting Critical
Care Transport Team (CCTT), patients and
equipment.Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may
be assigned.1. All responsibilities, duties and skills as listed
for EMT Basic and/or Paramedic2. Have an understanding of the CCTT
specific equipment as well as CCTT specific ambulance(s) and
location of supplies3. Attend training and refresher courses as
required to maintain CCTT skills4. Safely load and unload the
various gurneys (isolette, pediatric gurney, and manual flight
gurney)5. Understand how to correctly load, unload power-load
gurney. Demonstrate ability to troubleshoot a power-load gurney6.
Correctly set up gurney for patient transport, including use of
Pedi-mate7. Attach Zoll monitor to patient, correctly placing 4
leads correctly, place SPO2 monitor and blood pressure cuff on
patient, print initial 6-second EKG strip, and basic
troubleshooting of Zoll monitor as needed8. Be familiar with
hospital locations, airfields and ED entrances in the servicing
area.9. Safely drive the crew and patient to and from hospitals and
facilities10. Safely maneuver ambulance during code 3 and inclement
weather driving11. Arrive to shift well rested and prepared to work
entirety of shift. Have a general understanding that you can be
extended past off-shift times due to acuity and complexities of the
calls.12. Contact on-call supervisor if concerns arise, including
feelings of fatigue13. Maintain cleanliness to interior/exterior of
CCTT main unit and back up unit on every shift, wash exterior of
both units as appropriate, and ensure that back up unit is always
prepared to be in service14. Ensure main in-house oxygen is full on
both units at the start of shift and change out the in-house tank
as necessary15. Maintain med-air above 1200 PSI on both units and
change out the tank as necessary. If transport is greater than 1
hour a full med-air tank is required16. Ensure both units have a
full tank of fuel at the start and end of each shift17. Know and
apply the NICU/PICU PCR requirements for each part of a call18.
Check in with Operations Supervisor at the start of each shift19.
Know how to correctly contact CCTT via phone and how to access the
CCTT office20. Park in designated location to pick up CCTT and
equipment21. Assist CCTT during calls with, but not limited to, the
following:a. Connecting patient to Zoll monitor and obtaining vital
signsb. Set up blood glucose monitoring suppliesc. Scribing as
necessaryd. Set up appropriate equipmente. Connecting patient to
oxygen sourcef. Plugging in isolette while on sceneg. Transferring
patient to gurneyh. Preparing patient for transport22. Maintain a
level of professionalism and self confidence that positively
reflect on both NORCAL Ambulance23. Other duties as

Examiner's Certification, Ambulance Drivers Certification, DMV
Driving Record in good standing in accordance to insurance company
standards.
