About the position

The Electronics Technician, System Integration II is a key role on Bellwether s Manufacturing team and will work onsite at our Headquarters in Berkeley, CA. They will have the primary responsibility of ensuring that finished products perform reliably for our customers. The positions report to our Manufacturing Manager.

Key Responsibilities- What success looks like

  • Act as team leader of the team involved in final system integration and testing
  • Leverage an understanding of the complete system architecture to develop and augment testing and diagnostics techniques suitable for end of line bringup, testing and trouble-shooting.
  • Develop documentation to help train other technicians
  • Work with product Test Engineering to improve the test process for efficiency and throughput
  • Use, and train others in the use of, specialized tools such as multimeters, and oscilloscopes as well as other test equipment to ascertain correct diagnosis and failure points to resolve and bring the final product to completion status
    • Minimum requirement of an Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related field
    • Preferably 5 to 10 years of experience in a related field
    • Highly developed programming skills related to diagnostics and troubleshooting; familiarity using C, Python, Linux, or related technologies
    • Training and experience as a senior electronics technician, preferably in a laboratory or manufacturing environment
    • Hands-on electrical and mechanical aptitude, including soldering expertise and assembly of electro/mechanical devices using IPC standards
    • Proficient in the use of multimeters and other basic instruments as well as demonstrate proficiency in the use of oscilloscopes and comfort with minor mechanical rework
    • Ability to read, interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, assembly prints, schematics and parts lists
    • Ability to troubleshoot down to component levels in circuits involving processors, communication ports, input/output devices, and power electronics.
    • Possess strong AC/DC power electronics and applications skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, proven troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
    • Experience with power in the ranges of: 120 to 600VAC and DC power supplies up to 48vdc
    • Ability to use a range of computer programs (MS Word, Excel, Dropbox)
    • Strong written and verbal communication, focus on customer service, and troubleshooting abilities
    • Team player with the ability to thrive in a quickly-evolving, fast-paced environment

      Physical demands included below are required and necessary to perform the essential functions of both jobs. Bellwether will make reasonable accommodations to enable people with diverse abilities to perform these essential functions.
      • Physical requirements: Ability to sit/stand/walk/squat or lay for various amounts of time during an 8 to 10 hour shift; frequent use of hands for grasping, turning and fine manipulation
        Must be able to lift and/or move up to 80 lbs
