The PositionKEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES Note:Not intended to be inclusive of all responsibilities Responsible for providing maintenance support and expertise for a variety of new and existing equipment and Utility systems supporting a cGMP small molecule pharmaceutical production area Ensure systems (including equipment, facilities and utilities) are maintained / repaired in accordance with cGMP requirements, Genentech maintenance specifications, and in a constant state of inspection readinessEnsuring all corrective and preventative maintenance and mechanical tasks are performed at the appropriate interval and are completed by the assigned due date, including those activities performed by third party vendorsPerforms troubleshooting to determine problems, and may be required to do corrective maintenance on a variety of HVAC, electrical, Water, Gas, and refrigeration systemsIdentifying critical spare parts and lubricants needed and ensuring that acceptable levels of those inventories are maintained in order to minimize equipment down time and maximize production efficienciesResponsible for ensuring that all relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and operating parameters are followed and maintenance activities are properly documented utilizing Good Documentation Practices (GDP)Conduct maintenance work in an FDA-regulated environment and supporting internal and external inspectionsInteract and communicate effectively with manufacturing, research and development, Quality Assurance,and administrative customers Respond to emergency calls and alarms in a timely manner Performs equipment modifications, including installation, validation support and start-up, of new equipment as well as decommissioning activities Trained and qualified to use a single discrepancy management system (e.g. VEEVA) to work on discrepancies, assessments, tracking actions Participate in root cause assessments for process discrepancies and Quality investigations Ensuring training requirements are met at all timesIdentifying training deficiencies, providing recommendations for training and, where applicable, providing trainingWalking or moving from one service call to the next, including preventative maintenance work, the majority of the dayWorking in loud environments that require ear protection and lifting 30-40 pounds regularlyWorking with various chemicals, steam, and pressurized gasses and liquids of various temperaturesWorking with energized systems and working in close proximity to moving equipment.The job may require entry into confined spaces and use of a respiratorMust be able to provide off-hours emergency maintenance coverage as neededMay be required to work overtime and off-shifts, as needed, including weekends and holidays KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ATTRIBUTESHigh School diploma or equivalentTechnical degree or certificate a plusDirect maintenance experience with process equipment, plant utilities, as well as clean validated utilities:i.e. HVAC, Clean Dry Air, and Purified WaterExcellent interpersonal effectiveness, planning, communication, and customer service skills (written and oral) required, interfacing across departments and management levelsProficient in Google Office Suite: Docs, Sheets, Slides, Email, Calendar REQUIREMENTSPreferred minimum 5 years Biotech/Pharmaceutical industry experience with a thorough working knowledge of cGMP maintenance production in accordance with FDA regulatory guidelines.
